Makato was the princess of a clan of matriarchal kitsune warriors. She was placed into an arranged marriage at 13 to the prince of a pack of wolf-shifter warriors, Adonis, due to an ongoing war between the two species over land disputes. Her life was thought to have been ended the day before their marriage, when a coven of vampires lead by a vampire lord obsessed with her attacked their home, ending both the wolves and the kitsunes. Only for her to revive as a vampire hybrid with some complications and along with her mate decides to live away from humans, rebuilding an abandoned temple and shrine to be their new home.
